BRYAN CHENG
Bryan Cheng is a filmmaker and artist of Cantonese descent, born and raised in Panama City, Panamá. From a young age, having an intersectional identity always struggled him to fit in. But thanks to cinema and art, he found himself in storytelling, in creating characters, stories, and worlds where he and more people like him could see themselves.
Growing up an artist and storyteller, and having developed leadership skills in high school as honor roll and class president, Bryan decided to study Film and TV at the Savannah College of Art and Design, where he could pursue his dreams at a college level with all the resources, connections, and network an art and film school could provide for him.
He is currently a senior and has had the opportunity to make his own films and take on different roles such as Director, Producer, Cinematographer, Gaffer, and Editor. He has also made collaborations with students from other departments such as Fashion, Business of Beauty and Fragrance, and Animation. On the side, he works on-campus as an International Office Assistant and ISSO social media content creator, where he assists new international students and their families every year.
He aspires to become a film director by creating stories that reflect on the human experience and display compelling and immersive visuals, while being a voice and medium for the unrepresented. Inspiring the next generation of filmmakers and storytellers.
